In a significant move highlighting the Imo State government’s commitment to industrial growth, Chief Uche Uzodinma, Special Adviser on Special Duties to His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodinma, paid a working visit to Nalis Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Naze Nekede Industrial Cluster, Owerri. The visit was facilitated by the Honorable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Barr. Rex Anumobi, who had promised to escalate the company’s concerns during his previous engagement with the pharmaceutical manufacturer.

The Managing Director of Nalis Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Engr. Obinna Magnus Onwunali, warmly received Chief Uzodinma and commended Barr. Anumobi for his proactive leadership in ensuring the swift government response.
During the visit, Engr. Onwunali led the delegation on a comprehensive tour of the facility, offering an in-depth look at the company’s state-of-the-art production processes and stringent adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). He underscored Nalis Pharmaceuticals’ position as the only GMP-certified pharmaceutical company across Imo and Abia States, a status that has made it a trusted contract manufacturing partner for over 25 pharmaceutical companies nationwide.
Engr. Onwunali further outlined the company’s challenges, particularly the urgent need for improved access roads to the industrial cluster, emphasizing that such infrastructure is critical for enhancing logistics, productivity, and overall operational efficiency.
Chief Uzodinma, renowned for his advocacy for rural infrastructure, expressed admiration for the company’s contributions to the pharmaceutical industry and the local economy. He assured the management of the state government’s commitment to addressing the infrastructural deficit.
“The Uzodinma administration recognizes the pivotal role of industries in driving economic growth. Infrastructure development remains a priority, and I assure you that your request for improved access roads will receive serious attention,” Chief Uzodinma stated.
Barr. Rex Anumobi, who accompanied the delegation, reiterated his dedication to fostering an enabling environment for industries in Imo State. “The strides of companies like Nalis Pharmaceuticals highlight Imo State’s potential as a thriving industrial hub. The government is committed to working closely with stakeholders to address challenges and unlock further growth,” he said.
