Deji Adeyanju Confirms Peter Obi Has Sued Him, Promises “Maximum Entertainment” in Court Battle
By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News
Human rights activist and political commentator, Deji Adeyanju, has confirmed that former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has filed a lawsuit against him — a development that has quickly sparked reactions across social media.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page, Adeyanju announced the legal action, expressing both surprise and satisfaction that Obi had followed through on his threats of litigation.

“Finally, Peter Obi has sued me. I am actually happy and relieved that he didn’t chicken out in the end,” Adeyanju wrote. “Interestingly, he dragged me all the way to Anambra State, even though he is almost always in Abuja where I reside. But no shaking, we move. I will prove in court that Peter Obi is corrupt, a bigot and a fraud. You will all be entertained, I promise.”
The activist’s bold remarks have since drawn a flurry of comments online, with many Nigerians debating the implications of the impending legal showdown between the outspoken activist and the influential politician.
“Maximum Entertainment” Ahead, Says Adeyanju
In a follow-up post, Adeyanju doubled down on his stance, writing:
“Peter Obi v Deji Adeyanju: I promise you all maximum entertainment.”
The statement further intensified public curiosity about the nature of the lawsuit and the potential revelations that could emerge during court proceedings.
Background and Political Context
Adeyanju, known for his fiery social media commentaries, has been one of Peter Obi’s most vocal critics since the 2023 general elections. His posts often spark controversy within Nigeria’s political and online spaces, where he commands a large following.
While the specific details of the lawsuit remain undisclosed, the case is expected to draw significant attention given both figures’ high public profiles and history of political confrontation.
Observers note that the case could test the boundaries of free speech and defamation law in Nigeria, particularly as online political discourse continues to blur the line between criticism and character attacks.
For now, Adeyanju appears unfazed, vowing to “entertain” Nigerians through the legal process — a remark that underscores the theatrical tone the case may assume in the weeks ahead.
