Beloved in Christ, today is the Twelfth Sunday of the Year (B) and the 23rd day in the Month of June, year 2024. I am here as usual to share the word of God with you. My name is Joseph Iyaji.

In today’s edition of my daily Catholic reflection, we shall learn about the sovereignty of God, the transformative power of Christ’s love, and the call to have unwavering faith even in the midst of life’s storms.
Things we need to know from our readings of today are:
1- God is in control, even when we don’t understand (Job 38:1, 8-11). God’s powerful words to Job from the whirlwind remind us that His ways are beyond human understanding, and that He is always in control, even in the midst of turbulence.
2- Christ’s love transforms us (2 Corinthians 5:14-17). Paul’s words remind us that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation, and that the old has passed away. This teaches us that our faith in Christ gives us a new perspective on life.
3- Faith and trust are essential in times of turmoil (Mark 4:35-41). The disciples’ experience in the stormy sea teaches us that Jesus is always present with us, even in our darkest moments, and that He can bring peace to any storm.
4- We must turn to Jesus in our moments of need (Mark 4:38). The disciples’ cry to Jesus in the midst of the storm, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” (Mark 4:38), reminds us that we must turn to Jesus in our moments of need, trusting in His love and care for us.
