By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News
The Kebbi State Government has confirmed that all is set for the hosting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum scheduled for Thursday, 16th October 2025, in Birnin Kebbi. The high-level gathering, according to Akahi News findings, will bring together governors, policy advisers, and top political figures from across the federation to deliberate on Nigeria’s security and development challenges.

Key Focus: National Development, Security, and Poverty Reduction
Briefing journalists after Wednesday’s Executive Council meeting, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Attahiru Maccido, revealed that the forum’s central theme revolves around national development, internal security, and poverty alleviation strategies.
According to Akahi News, Maccido emphasised the importance of unity and collaboration among governors to design innovative solutions that align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He urged the people of Kebbi to actively support the state’s hosting effort, ensuring a smooth and hitch-free event.
“This meeting is not just a political formality. It is about finding practical ways to strengthen national security and improve the welfare of Nigerians,” Maccido was quoted as saying.
Schedule and Logistics for the APC Governors’ Forum
The two-day event will begin with a host dinner on Thursday evening at the Government House Chamber, setting the tone for the main deliberations.
A follow-up stakeholders’ engagement is scheduled for Friday, 17th October 2025, where resolutions and next steps from the forum will be reviewed.
Akahi News gathered that the Kebbi State Government has finalised logistics and security arrangements to accommodate the high-profile visitors expected in the state capital.
Call for Public and Media Collaboration
Maccido also appealed to residents and journalists in Kebbi to contribute to the success of the forum by amplifying discussions and outcomes across media platforms.
According to reports, the forum aims to strengthen inter-state collaboration and provide a platform for governors to exchange ideas on policy harmonisation, agricultural development, and economic empowerment.
Observers believe that the meeting in Kebbi could set the tone for broader regional partnerships and tangible policy shifts within the APC-led states ahead of the 2026 midterm political year.
The APC Governors’ Forum continues to serve as one of Nigeria’s most influential political coordination platforms, driving intergovernmental collaboration and setting development priorities across the federation.
Akahi News will continue to provide updates as proceedings unfold in Birnin Kebbi.
