Monthly Vigil Set to Hold this Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Olode, Osun State
Akahi News – 30 July 2025
Worshippers and faithful across Osun State and beyond are gearing up once again for the highly anticipated Monthly Catholic Vigil organised by Rev. Fr. Pius Odekunle, the Parish Priest of St. Peter Catholic Church, Olode. This spiritual convergence, held every first Friday of the month, continues to be a beacon of hope, healing, and divine encounter for Christians seeking renewal in their walk with God.

The August edition of the vigil is scheduled to take place this Friday, 1st August 2025, from 10:00 PM till dawn, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Olode, a serene and spiritually charged location under the jurisdiction of the Catholic Diocese of Osogbo.
This month’s vigil carries the deeply reflective theme, “Visit Me, Jesus Christ”, drawn from the Gospel of Matthew 8:14-15, which narrates the account of Jesus entering Peter’s house and healing his mother-in-law. The passage reminds Christians of the Lord’s power to transform lives, heal the sick, and offer divine visitation in times of need.
Presiding over the all-night programme will be Rev. Fr. Pius Odekunle, a devoted Catholic priest known for his passionate sermons, healing prayers, and vibrant spiritual leadership. Under his guidance, the Monthly Vigil has grown into a major spiritual rallying point, attracting participants from within and outside Osun State.
In an interview with Akahi News, a parish media aide expressed great anticipation for the upcoming vigil. “Every month, we witness testimonies of breakthroughs, spiritual encounters, and deep transformation. The August vigil is expected to usher in another wave of divine visitation, just as the theme implies.”
Participants can look forward to powerful praise and worship sessions, Eucharistic adoration, intercessory prayers, the Holy Mass, and moments of reflection under a prayerful atmosphere. The night will not only be a gathering of prayer but also of faith renewal and spiritual awakening.
For those who may not be able to attend in person, live streaming will be available on Facebook via the official page: @Pius Odekunle. This ensures that faithful across the globe can connect virtually and partake in the blessings of the vigil.
