The command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Saturday, disclosing that the horrific incident occurred in the early hours of 21st August 2025.

According to the police, the case was reported by a resident who grew suspicious after noticing unusual activity around Mrs Enemo’s residence. Officers dispatched to the scene discovered her mutilated body dumped in a bush behind her home.

Ejire-Adeyemi revealed that further search led to the recovery of additional body parts hidden in a sack and discarded beneath a nearby community bridge. The suspect, identified as the younger brother of the victim’s husband, was reportedly seen leaving the house moments before the gruesome discovery and was immediately arrested.

Meanwhile, the victim’s husband has been contacted by investigators for clarification. The remains of Mrs Enemo, aged 39, have been deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) morgue for autopsy.

Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, has ordered a full-scale investigation, assuring residents that justice will be served. He also urged the public to remain calm and avoid speculative narratives that may fuel fear or tension within the community.

“The command will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that justice is done. We appeal to members of the public to cooperate with us by providing credible information that can support our ongoing investigations,” Ejire-Adeyemi said.

The Kwara police have reassured residents of their commitment to maintaining law and order, stressing that perpetrators of such heinous crimes will face the full weight of the law.
