Catholic Priest Cries Out After Alleged Harassment by Lagos Task Force Officials
By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News
A Catholic priest in Lagos has raised alarm after alleging that he was harassed by task force officials despite driving a private car and possessing all necessary documents.

In a video that surfaced online, the visibly disturbed priest narrated his ordeal, claiming that the officials stopped him and insisted he must provide an additional unspecified “paper” before he could be allowed to continue his journey.
According to the priest, he promptly contacted a senior police officer, who clarified that his car is private and not subject to commercial transport regulations. Despite this, the officials reportedly refused to heed the clarification.
He further explained that he had his complete documents with him, including a tinted permit duly issued by the Nigerian government, but the officials allegedly dismissed his explanations and continued to demand more paperwork.
The development has sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians questioning the conduct of task force officials and their treatment of citizens, especially when all legal requirements have been met.
As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Government and the task force authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
